Care Instructions
Keep Your Handwoven Rug Looking Like New for Years
At Borr Halı, we understand the importance of proper care in preserving the longevity of our handwoven rugs, each crafted with great care and expertise. To help maintain both the aesthetic beauty and structural integrity of your rug for years to come, we recommend following the care and cleaning instructions below.
General Use
- Protect from direct sunlight: Prolonged exposure to sunlight may cause natural dyes to fade over time.
- Be mindful of furniture pressure: Heavy furniture continuously pressing on the same area may damage the rug’s fiber structure.
- Ensure proper air circulation: Avoid direct contact with damp surfaces, as moisture may lead to mold growth and unpleasant odors.
Cleaning Instructions
Daily Cleaning
- Gently vacuum your rug using a low-suction vacuum cleaner with a brushless attachment.
- Do not hang and shake or beat your rug forcefully, as this may damage its natural structure.
Stain Removal
- Act quickly: If liquid is spilled, gently blot it with a clean white cotton cloth without spreading the stain.
- Never rub the stain: Rubbing may cause the stain to spread and damage the fibers.
- Choose gentle cleaning products: Mild soapy water and a soft cloth are ideal for light cleaning.
Professional Cleaning
We recommend having your rug professionally cleaned by a specialist rug cleaning service at least once a year.
Storage Conditions
- If you will not be using your rug for an extended period, roll it up, cover it with a cotton cloth, and store it in a cool, dry place.
- Do not use nylon bags or airtight plastic coverings. These prevent the rug from breathing and may damage its structure.
A handwoven rug is more than just a floor covering; it is a work of craftsmanship. At Borr, we hope that this dedication and artistry will continue to enrich your living spaces for many years to come.
